Mission Statement
The Bee Cave Public Library will provide intellectual, cultural, educational, and recreational resources in a variety of formats. The library will offer an inviting environment, promote lifelong learning and foster a sense of community.
History of the Library
Bee Cave Public Library was established in 2003 with a collection of donated materials staffed by volunteers in a small space in what was then the Village of Bee Cave Administration Building. In 2005, the Village hired a professional librarian and leased a modular building to house the library until its permanent home was ready. By 2006 the Library had become a fully accredited member of the Texas State Library System.
In December, 2007, the Library moved to its permanent home in the Hill Country Galleria on the first floor of the newly-constructed Bee Cave City Hall.. The library is open to all Texas residents, and offers more than 32,000 volumes of books, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, DVDs, read-along kits and more for readers of all ages and interests. Digital resources include downloadable e-books, audiobooks, and digital magazines, as well as a wide variety of databases. Computers are available for public use along with free wireless access. Library programs for all ages and services that include interlibrary loan, reference, and readers advisory make Bee Cave Public Library a true community center.
