Teen Advisory Board Service Projects:
TAB members have come together and contributed amazing things to the library and our community. In addition to developing content for the library, planning fun events, and connecting area youth to reading resources, TAB has also implemented service projects throughout the years.
2021-2022 Project: Book Nook for Southwest Trails Learning Center
Over the course of several months, TAB worked to build a new "book nook" for Southwest Trails Learning Center, a local organization that provides free after school care. TAB was dedicated to stocking this classroom library full of books that represent diverse people, cultures, abilities and families. In March, TAB ran a book drive, and with help from Friends of the Library, were able to collect over 50 books and furniture. In April, TAB visited the learning center to install this new book nook, as well as hang with the kids at the learning center.

2018-2019 Project: Little Free Library
In order to raise funds to purchase a Little Free Library, teens wrapped gifts for Barnes and Noble customers through the holidays. The Hive Arts Foundation then provided the space and inspiration for library TAB teens to decorate the library and make it a cheerful space for area youth to take or leave a book as they visit Foster Village Austin in Dripping Springs.
2017-2018 Project: Burke Center for Youth Library
After learning that Hill Country teens were in need of new recreational reading options, our library TAB petitioned the Friends of the Library and the Bee Cave community for funds to build a small library collection that would appeal to residents at The Burke Center for Youth. TAB teens made handwritten thank-you cards to all who donated and TAB officers visited The Burke Center to put together the library comprised of hand-picked favorite titles, while residents were away on a retreat.
